Dario Zanca, PhD

I am a Postdoc and Head of the Applied Machine Learning Group at the Machine Learning and Data Analytics Lab, Friedrich-Alexander-Universität (FAU) Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany. I am an ELLIS member since 2023.

I've always been a fan of human intelligence, its ability to develop situated knowledge and generalize and adapt fast to new and different environments. It proceeds through perception, interaction, and reasoning. I am delighted to put my efforts into discovering and formalizing the functional principles that underlie these processes to equip machines with the same abilities.

My research interests broadly fall into the areas of deep learning and computational cognitive sciences, with a focus on human-inspired computer vision and robustness.
